DSM, I have a question which I believe goes along with peepsalot's question:

(Peepsalot's question) "I was wondering about that working with different boost settings since I saw it had a map sensor. How does that work exactly? It is able to sort of interpolate between maps depending on boost, or just to flip between maps or what?"

(His question was in regards to your post) "oh also forgot to mention we found a way to "overlay" all 3 map settings into one map, so all of you have "the super" map programmed on your units which will allow you to run all 3 boost settings without problems"

(And finaly my question) If I get a boost controller with 2 settings like the profec-B, will the AFC be able to switch between maps on the fly. If this is not the case then what is the benifit of overlaying all 3 maps? Hope this post is not to confusing.

Awsome product by the way, I will be ordering my in spring. (When I get some more cash.)

the AFC has an internal map sensor which allows it to "detect" how much boost your running and adjust a/f ratios accordingly via the value it has set in its map. So yes thte afc will adjust on the fly.

U going to post the file for that 3 overlayed map?

from what i've read it does get rid of fuel cut. it is probably a smart investment to buy an ebc in the future so you don't overspike.

it only gets rid of it to a point......if you try to run 12psi on the 10psi maps, then fuel cut will occur, but running 10psi on the maps will be fine. This is how I understand it. If you custom made a map for 12psi, then there would be no fuel cut at 12psi.

Couldn't find pics of the unit yet, so can someone that received theirs already post a pic of this please? I'm looking for a place in my car to mount this and need to know the size of it. Thanks:)

i believe its the Split Second psc1 unit. its not very pretty so i dunno if you wanan go mount it somewhere people can see it. some one posted pics already. i'll see if i can dig them up.

Honestly who cares. If you really wanted to, you can put pink flower and red ribbons on it to make it "Purrty".

I saw the pics...Not what I was expecting...I remember someone posted some pics of a device that had like 3 knobs on it. I guess it was just an example of something else(dunno) Oh well, Guess this'll be hidden away somehwere in the glovebox...

what the hell is your problem. the guy asked where he could mount the damn thing. A lot of people tend to think their getting something, um you would say "purrty", like the other aftermarket afc provided by hks, apex, etc. I for one could care less what it looks like which is why i'm in the second group buy. you need to chill out.

the 3 knob one is the old style version that was posted up when people were attempting the guess what our new "secret" product was. In the beginning this is what we were going to use, but the psc series allows for complete tuning throughout the rpm and boost bands...the 3 knob version only allows crude adjustments via the 3 knobs....my 2 favorite mounting locations for it thus far is msp267s in the glove box and evils in the engine bay....no reason to really have it out in the open as it doesnt blink or do tricks! The biggest thing is just to make sure you mount it somewhere you can access it to change maps, and to record tunining sessions and runs if you have a laptop. In David's(msp267) for example I can do a ride along and monitor everything on the laptop sitting in the passenger seat via being plugged into the unit mounted in the glove box. I can record and view the logs and then have him pull into a parking lot to turn off the car and change map settings all without ever having to take off my seat belt! Noclue - Everyone's comes preloaded with the "super map" which has all three boost setting overlays.

Important Note - 10lbs has contacted me regarding a hiccup under partial throttle. This should not be happening under any circumstances, as it is the sole purpose of the ESC function of the unit to smooth out partial throttle conditions. If anyone else is having this problem let me know. Thus far I've been unable to duplicate the problem on the test software or on David's car. At the moment I'm guessing bad connections or vac leak, but if there is some kind of glitch in the maps I'd like to nail it right off the bat. On the other hand 10lbs is running many more mods than we were able to test for so it may be something simple like an adjustment in the map settings. None the less just wanted to keep everyone informed.

Okay, so I don't clog the new thread, I'm hoping you can answer me a few questions..
1)I have an FMIC, intake, and exhaust(hopefully getting a new DP soon too) and boosting 10 psi. Will this afc unit work the same on my 10psi with mods as another msp running bone stock and 10psi? Like I said I want to get another DP for my car soon, if not a full turbo back.
2)This is gonna be kind of vague, but I get a bad hiccup(maybe even fuel cut??) at partial to wide open throttle in cold temps, like 5am when I'm leaving work(35-50 degrees outside). Is it just something to do with my fmic bringing in too much cold air? If that's the case, would this new AFC prevent that?

actually i noticed something also...I was in 2nd gear at about 3000 rpm with barely any throttle and i floored it and it studdered very hard, then took off. I'm not sure if that was because i was not boosting then floored it and it went to 10 psi.

But it seemed as though it stuttered and hesitated before it started boosting.

It has only happened once, i'll try and see if i can duplicate it tomorrow

I noticed that on the stock map too i might just go get it dyno tuned.
