Air conditioning filter

I am a smoker, and the person who had the car before me was DEFINATELY a smoker. I have read that you can change the air conditioning filter to help get rid of that smell. I searched, but can't find any info on this. (it keeps coming up with a bunch of intake threads) Does anyone know where this is located, and if you can replace it?

There is no cabin airfilter in the P5 that i know of.

There is no cabin air filter on the Protege.

The smell is probably living in the carpet & cloth seats. Might try steam cleaning them & maybe lightly fabreezing the headliner.
