my damn passenger side headlight went out...not the first time. Long story short...the damn clip broke. BROKE!!! So now I am in desperate need to find a replacement headlight assembly (Inspection is due at the end of the month) I went thru the search functions for websites and found a couple but none have a Passenger P5 headlight assembly (2003) Recommendations?

Please don't make me go to a dealership

Seen strays on ebay. When u say the clip broke you mean what? It came out from behind the screw head that kinda holds it in place? or the wire itself is broke? or missing?

not yet...but I am gonna have to do that soon if I can't find one. The clip broke yesterday while I was trying to replace the bulb. If I knew I would have to get a new HL Assembly, I woulda just broke my finger(eek2)

well now I am not sure. All I know is that I have the clip sitting here mocking me. Its in tact shape wise. I think the plastic part that holds the clip down from behind the screw head broke. I heard something snap and I pulled my hand out with clip in hand

1 of mine has been like that from the first time I changed one. You have to play with it to get it back under the screw head after the bulb is in it's place. It's kinda tricky like you need 3 hands or 8 fingers on the 2 you have but it will go back & stay there once you get it right. Use the other one to look at to get the wire clip in correctly. You'll see how it goes. U can do it!

Why thank you for the motivation. Unfortunately I don't have 3 hands...life would be intersting though.

I will check that out to see if I can sneak it back in there. Thanks!

I made a new hinge for my broken clip. See the pix. I just made it from a piece of sheet metal. Sorry these are cellphone pictures, but it worked fine. I wasn't about to let that stupid piece of plastic whip me.

very nice work around. Thing is that I can't seem to get the damn screw that holds the clip in place out cuz of the placement of the windshield washer fluid resovoir...and not being very comfortable with removing the entire headlight, I am breaking fingers left and right.

The washer reservoir just lifts off. I used a 12 inch phillips and you can put it right on the screw. magnetize it first.

Just lifts off? You mean the filler neck cam just.. comes off? that would be weird.

Oh, sorry, I just went out and looked. It was the power steering fluid. One screw. Then use a long plain phillips screwdriver that's been magnetized (not one with a bulging permanent magnetic tip) the washer neck isn't in the way.

Brown mine has beens like that ever since i got HIDs in, key is to play with it if your like me, whos not willing to dish out more money, and time to paint a new headlamp assembly black again. I do like that mod though to the clip maybe ill give that a try as it looks simple enough.

i just broke the top half off of my washer bottle. THe long neck that gets in the way that is. It breaks off a little less then flush from the frame. Then just get a cap for it and it will never be a problem again! My washer fluid still works great too!

If a 2002 headlight assembly will fit the 2003, then I have one for you. I just got some new HL from Street Unit and will be replacing them very soon. I will sell them to whoever needs them for a price to be determined.
