Has anybody had cruise control added after they bought a 5? On the '09 models factory cruise was available only on the top-line model. I didn't want to spend the extra $$$ just to get cruise control but I really miss it. Does Mazda have a "kit" the dealer can install or do I have to look for an aftermarket unit?

You can have mine! Seriously though, with our traffic, I rarely use it. Good Luck trying to add it.

you don't want that aftermarket junk! they don't work right and will void the warranty of your car!

yes, there's a cruise control kit from mazda you can buy... it will all plug right in

2010 3i: adding cruise ctrl

2010 Mazda 3i Sport:
Anyone made it work yet? Everyone says: "Just buy the brake switch and the steering-wheel switch plate and plug 'em in!" The backlights work, the brake switch works, but that's all. It's a 7-pin connector, 3 are unconnected. Is it missing wires, if so, where to? Is it missing SOFTWARE in the engine control unit?
With older 3i's, this idea worked fine. By 2007/8, you had to add a ground wire to make it work. So, now what?
If anyone has a schematic for the steering wheel/column I'd REALLY like to see it!

PS- Disclaimer: If you don't know the safety rules for airbags, don't even think of trying this!
