u had a problem with operator error ;).

more info on the progress of this AEM F/IC ppl.
what happened is this on hold or something ?????
How bigger injectors can this AEM unit can hold compare to the stock ones ??
EX; Emanage can't handle bigger than 440 inj what about this AEM unit ??

Well folks, brace yourselves....Lots of most shocking revelations!(freak)
I have just talked to the shop I found to install the AEM.
For starters, they determined that the wiring harness diagram I provided was not correct! After trying to test signals on wires I had labelled for the MPI install, it became clear something was not right.(dunno)

My new hero, Chris (the mechanic) went on a mission to find out what was wrong. He had noticed that the wiring diagram showed HALL sensors where the car has Magneto sensors (CPS and CKPS, I think he said it even had a different number of wires than showing on the diagram)

A friend of his used my VIN to access a reference database.
He says my car has the EECV from a FORD FOCUS!
MPI was wired up incorrectly (even though I followed the directions).
But would never have worked right.

He has the AEM installed now and running well.
Once reset, with both O2 sensors were clamped to only read 0 to 1.1 volts, the car runs much better.
I def. have a lot to learn about tuning, but here is what (I think)I understand right now.

Injector duty is at 73% up from 70% before adjustments were made.
At WOT he sed it was adding 15 points?
He noted that VERY SMALL changes to fuel were needed.
Any more than 0.8 change in the short term maps would cause hiccups.
Anyway, I have so much info to digest from him right now.

More info as i can comprehend it...

AND YOU BETTER DO A HOW-TO ON TRHE INSTALL
AT LEAST WIRING WISE@!!
it'll get you extra points+++

correct, mine says Ford on it also, our cars also have some Mitsubishi parts on it

Yup..The Mazda uses a Ford ECU..this is nothing new nor a mystery.
Getting a decent EMS to work..However ..Is.

i took my car to a shop in houston to get tuned. the shop does a great deal of tuning ford cars. they immediately recognized the ecu and the harness as a ford ecu. interestingly enough, i believe it was the focus svt that had an almost identical wire harness. they claimed that a few pins would have to be relocated however, it would be no big deal. the whole point to my post is that the focus ecu i am referring to would swap into our cars with a little modification and no only that, they can flash that ecu. i believe the tuning program they use is called diablo. so that may be another option....

now, that's ******* good new...
any way of making this a FACT?
if in fact we can modify a ECU then that'll be awesome!

I am gonna have to lay doubt to this working out....I think someone has mistaken your normal Mazda tuned Ford ECU for something its not..nor capable of becoming for any reasonable price.

it was actually reasonably priced. they said they could source the focus ecu for like 2-300. they said the harness work would be about 80 dollars. then it was something like 600 to flash the ecu. i have put too much money into my current ems setup to throw away what i have when i dont know 100 percent for sure it would work. they use the diablo program on all their ford cars (big into mustangs and lightnings, also do alot of work with vipers but thats not ford). when they compared the ecu pinout diagrams, they felt extremely confident the swap could work. they said that they swap ecu out on a number of cars they work on and just build a harness from the car to the 'new' ecu. im not saying this will work. i am saying that this is definitely something ppl should look into. the shop felt quite confident in this working. it was just the money issue on my part.

so back to the AEM F/IC , so far is working you mentioned and every feature is working properly ??
MSP's ecu is not acting up like it does w/ Emanage ??
How much timing can you retard ??

more infoooo pls
