AEM ems for Mazda Protege 01+

nice to hear someone else is going through with the AEM ems. I'm just subscribing for more news. Do you have any idea on when this will be available and how much it will be offered for? Or will the price depend on what complications you run to and if it comes pre-tuned so we can finish tuning it ourselves or by a shop?

what about the new exhaust cam gear? it said something about this in the GB on protegeclub that was being put together to buy through wagner....something about a difference in magnets on the cam gear? any thoughts on this beau?

subscribed. Will be looking for a good EMS in 3 weeks!!! WOOT!

It will be easy when it's up and running and all the bugs are worked out.So far the thing that takes the most time is building the adapter harness.

For those that are interested in this here is the begining parts list.
Keep inmind the parts listed here are not all that is needed.
AEM 1050 EMS
ECCV Calibration file
female EECV harness
AEM 1050 pin out harness.
Where can we get the female EECV harness??? I'm not too worried about the need to build it, the pinouts I mean. Anything would take time, but it would be nice to have.

It will be atleast 3-4 weeks before we have this up and running. No, the MPi tuner is not out.I'm very happy with what the MPI cost's and has to offer. The AEM is another option.Reason why we are doing the AEM is because our thumper kit that we are designing will be speed density(MAP).
You can get the EECV female plug from a junkyard.

I know you can get the part that bolts INTO the ECU, but what about the part that connects into the harness from the engine? Like the connector that's on the ECU itself.

I downloaded AEM 1.11 a couple days ago and am slowly reading the 200+ page manual. This thing is so awesome!! The knock control seems effficient enough that I won't need a J&S Safeguard...

now im REALLY interested...cant you tie int he AEM w/b to the ems somehow also?

The AEM wideband has an analog output (0-5V) that can be used by the AEM ems. The AEM can use stock sensors just fine but you can swap out your primary O2 sensor for a wideband. Did that answer your question... (huh)

A wideband O2 is more accurate than the stock narrowband O2 sensor. I would switch out the stocker to get more accurate A/F readings and better tunability.
