I just got my 3 last month and i already put a DPS grounding system and gained 8hp and 10 lbs of toque. but i want a CAI. i orderd one from AEM but they said it only fits a 3s manual trans. well i have my CAI and i wanted to know if it can be custom fit? and will it work right? Please help anyone!!!!

i had a 5hp gain in the 5500rpm-6500rpm range all other gains were spread out through the rest of the rpm range. i only had to mount it in 3 different locations. so some places work better than others. if you check out last months TURBO mag. they have an article on it the DPS systems.

tubo mag tested a non turbo car grounding system. i figured they'd only test turbod cars.

no they did a test on both turbo and non-turbo cars....both had very good gains....but like i said i had to mount it in 3 different locations to get the best results. plus it only cost me $150. so it was worth it.

No!!!

NO! i had it tested on a dyno. The magazine tested it on a turbo 350z and a non turbo 350z. my hp gain was 8hp and 10lbs torque total!!

8HP from a grounding kit?

Seems unlikely. You really should scan in those dyno results.

actually no

actually its not unlikley my dyno sheet is at home so i will scan it when i am there. but if you read TURBO mag. you will notice that you can actually get up to a 12hp gain because the DPS grounding system is supposed to be different than the other grounding systems. (so they say)...in their artical you will read that the car that they tested got a 12 hp gain.

I didn't say it IS unlikely, I said it SEEMS unlikely.

Just can't think of any logical explanation that sticking some ground wires on your engine would have the same gains as a CAI or an exhaust.

I'm very interested to see those dyno sheets.

So what makes the DPS kit different? What size cable does it use and where did you connect it?

well thats the thing is that i dont know how it is different...i will have to check what size wire it is.

eh was the grounding any good stock for those cars that popped a 12hp on a dyno? the only real grounding issue we had was the drive by wire tb. someone was researching the actual wire to ground vs the whole tb.
