Advice on catalytic flex pipe connector

My exhaust was sounding louder than usual so I took it in today to my mechanic. Failed flex pipe (in?) the catalytic converter and I was quoted $3,500 to fix.
I'm pretty handy and like working on cars so is there a fix or workaround I could do myself or any other advice on this? Also is it ok to drive it with this problem for a bit?
My car is a 2021 Signature AWD with about 80,000 miles.
Thnx-

I think you will need welding experience.

If it is after the cat, it won't cause issues, just noise. So up to you.

Do you have a CEL for the cat?

Go somewhere else. a flexpipe is cheap and simple to replace.
