This is in regards to the cold-engine grumble that has come up in several threads.
I think that with the man (and woman) power we have represented here, we constitute a special interest group to Mazda. Or, maybe we just love the protege. I would suggest that admin puts up a thread with a link to mazda customer service. We should all send an e-mail not only complaining (constructively) about the cold-engine noise, but also letting them know that we know that they know what it is (sorry, it's fun to talk like that) and that we are not going to just "accept" it. Perhaps if they got a few hundred more e-mails on the same subject (and we of course can do follow-up mailings) they might get off their rears and finally do this ECU flash to hopefully fix it. What do you guys think? I've found from working in public office, that just a few letters make a real difference. If you figure that on average only about 1 in 1000 people actually takes the time to complain, receiving a hundred emails will scare the crap out of Mazda. Another even more effective mass mailing might be a petition-form mailing with grievances to a large-market auto mag like R&T or AW.
Let me know what you think!
