Adding a Bazooka

A friend has an 8" Bazooka for sale.(cheap) Can I tap into the the Bose output and use the speaker level inputs on the tube without any problems? Is the Bose using a low impedence?
I don't want to cannibalise the stock set-up in any way but am told that trying to add to or modifying the Bose system is not worth the effort.
Any suggestions?

Bose tuned the sound system for the acoustic environment in the car.. why add more boom to it? It'll be way off-balance.

Welcome to the forums by the way.

IMHO I feel as though the tubes are junk. Cheap speakers in a cheap plastic enclosure. I would never put one in my car.

Savy is right. tubes were designed as a plug-and-play solution to pick-up truck owners. For some reason, who knows why, they became popular. If you ask me they are junk. But if you can get one real real cheap and you are looking to add a little low end to your stock system, there is no reason you can't tap into the speaker outputs from your stock system (usually the rear speaker leads are an easy way to do this).

COME ON GIVE MASTER P SOME CREDIT FOR THOSE TUBES! lol He owns the company......That alone keeps me clear from bazzeeeeewKa. But depends how cheap? And you have the Bose, thats spose to sound pretty good itself right?

I recommend to Get a Infinity Basslink or Mtx Thunderlink or one of the Alpine creations Plt5 or plv7? something like that, theres 2 different ones.....Theyre the way to go, the basslink has had a lot of blown amp problems though, The bomb tube depends again how cheap....If you wanna make master P happy then get the tube! lol

so how many "audio experts" do we have here? From personal experience and installation experience (I am a MECP certified installer) the bass tubes are an excellent way to go. Bazooka has been around since the early 80's and have a solid rep, for a reason, decent sound at a reasonable price. as far as using the inputs, you should be fine tapping into the rear speakers and using them as high level inputs.

And for all of you out there who think a STOCK bose system sounds good!?!? You obviously have not heard a decent system in sometime.

Go for it man, if you want more bass and you feel the price is right its a good deal (point the sub towards the hatch or back trunk for best sound).
