Add climate control panel to CX-7 that came with standard?

2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
Hello all. I have a 2011 CX-7. Coming from my Mazdaspeed 6 I didn't realize all the little things I would be missing that came standard in the MS6 (Climate control, adjustable headlights, Bose system...at least I got to keep the same engine!). I just naively assumed that going with the 2.3 turbo AWD model would come with some of the fancy features just by its nature. I was a bit too hasty in my new purchase and didn't look at all the standard features and their available upgrades; but that's a problem I have to work on for myself on my next car purchase.

Anyway, I was curious if a climate control panel would be a drop-in install for vehicles that didn't come with it. I noticed my LED display has the ability to display those options in the bottom half which go unused completely in my vehicle. Obviously it would require some sort of harness down at the panel, I am just unsure if that would be left there on my car which came with standard temp controls.

Hope that was somewhat clear, thanks for the help!

did you ever figure this out as im looking to do the same thing including adding a auto headlight switch

No I didn't ever get any further than the idea stage. Couldn't find any info on it so I just basically gave up :(

from the pictures i found on the manual control head, i see the mode door is operated by a cable so i dont see this being possible as the auto control head is all electronic of course.

Good point. Yeah, it was just a dream...I just hate seeing half of my LED screen sit unused, as weird as that sounds.

i wanted the same thing - my next research is seeing if you can add a auto headlight switch as the season is on the dash
