acrylic rods for angel eyes

Actually I'm not making angel eyes, but something else very cool for my interior. I can't find these anywhere. I went to Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Home Depot. The closest thing I found was those hex rods used for miniblinds. Of course, the brain-dead employees never know anything. Someone tell me which section to check!! and I've already tried the curtain rod sections. Help!

Also, looking for acrylic tubes. Like 5ft x 2or3" with 1/8-1/4" walls. Any suggestions?

the hex rods are fine to use, the round ones are harder to find obviously and work about the same.

yeah, so I see. I've learned from many google searches that finding someone who sells the round ones and the acrylic tubes in small quantities is kinda hard. The hex will probably work good enough, but I'm really looking for a 1/2" - 3/4" diameter rod. I've got some ideas for interior accents using acrylic rods and tubes.

by the time you find acryllic rods of that thickness and pay for them with install and everything else for the lighting scheme you will probably be better of going to like autozome or something and just get the neon/flourescent tubes they carry.

Only inside lighting im doing is blue bulbs in the foot area and I have a black light cathode tube from my computer I dont use anymore and was gonna wire it into something. I think with the blacklight it would be cool to make a zoomzoom or mp5 logo in that black light marker/paint that only shows in the light.

The only reason I say this is if you do find the thicker acryllic tubes and u want a decent price you'll prob have to buy em in like 25-100 packs =(

Actually I'm not trying to make angel eyes, just doing something with the same materials. I think that hex rods will work just fine, so I'm gonna go ahead and try them.

Well, I'll just tell you guys what I'm trying to accomplish. I want to embed 1 or 2 acrylic rods(prob hex rods for these) in my door sills with 7 color LEDs lighting them up. Next, gonna get a sign shop to etch plexiglass with either "Protege" or something else (still thinking of ideas b4 $ spent), and have this plexi piece mounted and backlite in the hole in front of the shifter.

I got this other brainstorm a couple of days ago. Some may think it's too rice, but I'm more into looks and sound than performance. I haven't seen this in a car before. Tell me what you guys think...

You know those color changing water columns that have an air bubbler on them that they sell at mall gift stores? Well, with the acrylic tubes, I want to make a mini version of that which is embedded in the B pillars and/or embedded in the trim around the radio.

Then I'm gonna hang a disco ball from the roof.

I'll have to check Lowes. Home Depot is a nay-no. I've seen in posts that HD has the round rods for curtains, but they didn't, just the hex miniblind rods.

Ill be taking alot of pictures tomorrow probably, after a wash cause it looks like I went autoX'ing right now cause there is a crack in the middle of my cul-de-sac and there is a circular patch of water like 20-30ft in diameter, so I go sliding through there alot =)

I have promised alot of pictures of some of the stuff Ive done like all the metalcast painting inside the engine bay, my DaveB rings w/bezel and just the car a sa whole so hopefully tomorrow or mid next week at the latest...I just got bumped some more hours at work with a small lateral promotion so my time is a little bit less now.
