so some jerk backed into my car at school...100% his fault. filed the police report and everything...now it looks like my front bumper and left fender are going to need to be replaced. (notcool) so i was wondering, what are the prices of the OEM bumper compared to any of the aftermarket ones available? i know with my old car the aftermarket bumpers were actually cheaper so if i can get the shop to order auto exe bumper or some other nice front bumper instead of the stock one i will. I might as well take whatever good i can get from this situation right?

You will need to pay out of pocket for the Autoexe bumper. Two things, they are not cheap and the wait time for delivery might be awhile. I think Voicekoil had one for sale but I am not sure if he still does. Most shops dislike dealing with aftermarket parts. I would say go stock part and then maybe pick up a lip and have that painted at the same time. Keeps prep costs down and usually they have plenty of paint to do it. Good luck and sorry to hear about the accident.

you could just do the labor yourself...
Have the guy cut you a check and you can cover the rest of the costs by yourself, have a shop paint them and you reinstall them.

what color is your car? I have a silver, near perfect (98%), oem, ms3 front bumper fs. The grille has a very very small scratch. lemmie know.

Ahhh, my bad. I didn't read your whole post and just realized what's going on. Lemmie know anyway. Sry to hear about your situation, dude. Same thing happen to me when i was at the court paying off a speeding ticket. I come back to the lot and a woman had kissed my front end. Damaged hood and the small scratch on the grille. covered by her ins and got a brand new bumper out of it haha. Good luck with everything.

plus that bumper is mine!!! This is kinda weird.. cause those are the exact 2 panels that were damaged in mine. But it was ice and concrete and car sliding into something that caused it. I got a quote from a body shop and this what they told me... the bumper was 403.00 + paint which is prolly around 200.00. Shipping for the bumper is kinda crazy Ive heard. And the fender was around the 150.00 mark + paint. Plus check out the authorized vendors here they have a lot of stuff too.

Is the guy's insurance paying for the damage? Hopefully that's the case. You need to go to 3 different body shops and get estimates using only OEM parts. Make sure to find the highest quality (most expensive) body shops you can, they'll usually take into consideration any hidden damage there may be underneath.

Take the 3 estimates and request a payout from the guy's insurance company. Order your own parts, and pay your own body shop to do the work.

for the people that got their front bumper replaced..... did the new bumper come with a new rubber lip under the front or was it swapped over from the old? i need that lip since my car is low....it protects it from a bunch of damage.

Any Reputable insurance company will have a licensed appraiser write their own estimate.
