ABS Light, Dealer Lowball, and Questions!

Hi all.

I have a MSP with 99,600 miles on it. High, yes, but all highway. I tried to trade it in for a Nissan(yes, kids dictate that), but the dealer had never heard of it, and said "no more than $5000! First of all, I don't think so! I guess I'll sell it privately.

Secondly, the ABS light has been on for a long time. AT least a year or more. Local shops don't know why. That also scared the dealer. Honestly, I don't think the ABS is working at all right now. Anyone else ever have this? It's got a bad caliper, too, which I'll be replacing this week.

In short, I'll probably put this up for sale here on the boards- but should I invest a bunch of money into the ABS light issue?

TIA!

abs light on = no abs at all
Which is neccessarily a bad thing..The MSP's ABS is too touchy IMHO anyway.
But I would suspect a bad sensor or something first. Maybe check all of the connections and wires at the wheels.

i would recommend fixing the abs light issue, really shouldnt be that big of a deal our abs systems are really pretty simple, prolly just a wheel speed sensor.
selling private or through ebay/craigslist/autotrader is probably a much better option for you.
