Need help here folks! 2009 3s Sport. (drunk)
I purchased the Sirius kits from a dealer. I planned to do the install myself thanks to the excellent how-to's on this board, however, the SO objected to having me rip the dash of her new 3 apart. Wanting the non-factory type install and wishing to save a boatload of bucks, I took it to the local BestBuy instead of the dealer. I asked them to install the antenna on the dash (I have had great reception in the past doing so on other cars), and the box wherever convenient. Thay said great, $80, come back in a few hours.
Upon my return, the VERY frustrated installer told me that the Sirius box was defective. I called the very helpful parts guy at the dealership who told me that, out of the hundreds of Sirius kits they have sold, none were defective. He said that he had heard their techs had difficulty in the past, and that the instructions were a bit off. The parts guy faxed a troubleshooting sheet to BEstBuy, to no avail. They tried every imaginable way to hook it up, but nothing worked.
Is there a trick to getting the Sirius box to work with an 09 headunit? It seems like a straightforward "tab a into slot b" type of hookup...
