So I'm looking at some new rims for the spring.
I've noticed on various sites using my year make and model in their search that many will show a wheel with high offset sort of generically indicating it will work with your car but the offset is like 42 or 45. Seems to be more typical in an 8" wide rim rather than a 7.5 which is usually higher like 50.
I guess my question is a 18x8 rim with a 42 offset going to give me some issues with torque steer or not? What if I want to run 225x40 tires later?
Will that enhance the torque steer problem? What about 235x40? Should I definitely NOT look for an offset below a certain number if i want to run rubber this wide? Have been looking at 8.5 width rims for that to give more stretch and provide clearance but wondered if the 8" would still work.
I'm not lowered and wont be. Running stock suspension and staying that way.
I plan to run the stock rubber on the rims until they are toast, and at this point two of them already are.
Thanks in advance!
