A nice 1977 RX3 SP edition on ebay

:
Mazda, RX4, 1974 NEW
Hello

At risk of being hated by all ebay buyers there is another nice ride offered on ebay. Again, I have no ties to the seller in any way. I only have a love for ROTARY's and if your on this forum so do you. It's an almost finished restored RX-3 SP. The SP edition in itself rare. Its also a 1977 which I believe was the last year produced. The car looks nice. Take a look for yourself. I will try posting the direct link.

I have no idea the HP but I recall them always being very fast. The handling of these SP's were also very good (for thier day). If anyone knows the HP or performance specs please post it. I do know that HP's and rotary's are always deceiving and these RX3's were very lite cars. I know someone in the US that just sold thiers for $18000k a month ago but that car was finished. This one still has the interior to do. I find it odd that R100's, RX2's, RX3's RX4's and RX7's don't bring in that much $$ off of ebay. I have seen RX's, especially pre RX7's sell for much more money privatley. Guess the world does not know what they are missing-yet!

Hello,

Ya, I know. The deals for Rotary's are amazing on ebay. Too bad I did not buy my jewl on ebay instead of privately. I problably would have paid half what I did. But I don't care, I love my 74 all original RX4 Coupe.

I bought an RX3-SP new in 1977. I posted a couple of threads about my experiences with it. I don't remember the numbers, but torque was phenomenal. I would show off with 5th gear starts, and never replaced the clutch during the 100k + miles I owned it.

B-12 motor (I think) with a funky dual point ignition system.

Reserve is met

Hello All,

I just checked up on it. The current bid is at $8500 and the reserve has been met. In my opinion that is still cheap. Like the all original rust free RX2 that just sold for $8000 on Monday. The world market just seems to over look the value of these rotary cars. Those who have had them for the last 10 years or more just don't know the value. As Mazda's in general have just become of vintage status in the US recently its now that these cars will get noticed. In my opinion once the rarity and unique engineering of these cars get noticed I feel thier values will sky rocket upwards. I hope someone gets this one on this forum and we hear about its completion and use.

Its Gone & the auction was closed one day early!!!

Hello All,

I guess soemoene made a deal outside of ebay for more than what the last bid of $8800 US was. I assume that someone wanted it bad and must of made a very strong high offer since the there was still another 24 hours left. We all know that the last 24 hours always has the most activity and spike in the price thus I expected the car to sell well over 11K US ($1200 more than the last bid) if it had been able to run its coarse.

I wonder what it went for. If it was someone on this forum and I hope it was please let us know about it.

regards

Max
