I'm very interested in any changes to ride/handling with your set-up... If you're familiar with what tramlining and bump steer are, let me know if/how the wheels&tires affected them. Also how was torque steer affected?

Looks great! That Nitto is an all-season, right? (albeit a funky one)

isnt tramlining when the car pulls into the ruts in the road?? im not sure what bump steer is, but im curious.. Yes the tires are all-season and i havent really had a chance to get on it yet, so no report on the torque steer. Ill keep you posted though and should have good pics this weekend

i have 235/40 on 18x8 38 mm offset and i ahve torque ster propably because i have much more power than stock i should be around 270 whp

Yup that's tramlining. Bump steer is just when hitting a bump causes the car to steer even though you don't input any steering. Like you might drive over a manhole cover or an asphalt patch and the car will pull towards the bump, especially if you're on the power as you cross it.

I had a 235/40 on an 18x8+48mm Rota last summer and all of the things I mentioned were really bad, with bump steer/torque steer being the worst. Just curious what the low offset on your 18x8's did for you. I need to know whether I need a new wheel or a new tire next summer.

DAMN that s***'s flush in the rear! Looks great and very close to the edge if not actually out from it a bit. ANy spacers used in there or is just a really low offset on the wheel?

+35 offset, no spacers. i held a ruler flat up against the fender and it sits exactly flush with the outside of the fender

35, that explaines it ;) Thats what I need to get somwhere between 35 and 42, tho your rims are also 8 inches wide which could add to it as well

its not too bad. Im going in for an alignment friday, since ive changed the suspension some. Ill let you know something solid this weekend

oh snap, gold torques just like my old wheels. Nice choice bro, they looks awesome!!

That looks really good. I'm guessing you had to roll your finders. Can we get a side shot?

Thanks

Thanks, i need to roll them...ill put a side shot up later when i get home as well

why does it rub? i need to figure out what offset rims to get with 245 drag radials im thinking 45 or 48 especially if your only running 225 and rubbing with a 35

it depends on how wide your wheel is in relationship to your offset. mine is an 18 x 8 +35. youll need an +45/48 to clear inner and outer with 245. With the stock being +52, thatll safely move you out just enough for clearance of a bigger tire.. +35 sits out considerably farther than stock, hence the rubbing over big bumps in the rear. It only hits the outside over big bumps though, not the inside..hope that clears some stuff up

Is your hub bore 73 or did you do a custom bore? I wonder if it would be OK to use 73 bore when stock bore size is 67.1.
