A/F Gauge Shows Lean

I installed the OBX headers a few days ago and I noticed that my A/F Gauge always read that it is lean. Has anyone else had this problem after installing headers??? Any ideas on what it could be. And yes the gauge worked properly before the header install.

yep i'm lean a lot of the time. basically everywhere before the engine goes into open loop. idle between 16 & 17, cruise between 15 & 16...it's most likely right

me, not at all. i never touch sensors. if i have to remove them, i take them out and place on paper etc. the sensor part is never touched

The Oil form your finger will totally **** the platnum in the sensor and make it inaccurate...

Even if you just touch the cover that has the holes in it...

You could it also give you a lean readout if the upper 02 sensor isn't properly seated in the threads of the header. I had that problem for a while until I figured out that I was just a moron. However, if it continously runs lean, you might want to look into getting a new upper 02. I've been down that road several times. Good luck with it!

LOL, or it's going lean because there are PLENTY of occasions in which a car runs lean. WOT is pretty much the only time the ECU decides it's appropriate to give you some fuel. Off throttle, cruise, idle etc, are all stoich and leaner.

If your car is lean at WOT then thank the heavens, because you'd officially be the only guy in a 3rd gen experiencing that......

...and oh, unless you've got wideband O2, those generic A/F guages are just a lightshow.....
