i have a 95 mazda millenia 2.5l v6 and my timing belt slipped i have been told it is an interferance motor and the valves are bent so i should junk it, but ive read that it is not a interferance motor, i did a compression test it is losing a lil bit of compression in the 3 rear cylinders. i really dont want to junk this car i love this car. can someone tell me if this a interferance motor or not ty in advanced

ive done two timing belts that the tensioners have failed in the 2.5. both times there was no damage to the drivetrain. and it was as simple as installing a new tensioner, and belt.

but, it is a pain to do the timing belt on the 2.5. exspect to take like 2 hours usually to do it. you have to pull the motor mount on the passenger side to gain access.

good luck!

my dad is a mechanic he just isn't sure if it is interferance he said if it isn't he will put the timing belt and s*** in just need to know if it is interferance. and if possible i got this off driver side door for engine ce06d24 and modle spec is TA02-NAR idk i can't find s*** on this at all for mazdas

check probetalk.com, and mx6.com. they both also use the 2.5 v6 you have. only difference id your intake manifold is slightly different along with a few other things. but any info like how to do a timing belt and so on could easily be found at either of those sites.

btw. the probes/mx6's that used the 2.5 were from 93-97. im sure there's even step by step how to's on those forums also!

ok ill look on there im hopin my car isn't junk lol my dad will do the belt n s*** hes done it plenty of times just depends on motor but ty alot ill start lookin

a ZE is imported. jdm style. lol. here in the states, its just a KL-DE. ze has like 30 extra hp i believe. from more agressive cams, a bit higher compression pistons, and a different intake manifold. along with square ported heads instead of oval like here in the states.
