So me and my dad was thinking because the engine right now is giving problems and
probably isnt gonna last much longer if we could swap it so we went to the some places but
they didnt have any engines that people have swapped in a 323 before like KL-DE, BP, etc so i was wondering would a honda engine work for it? like a D16? if so what would we need to perform the swap?

lol if your going to put a honda engine then might as well buy the car since your going to be looking at headaches. anything could be swapped. it just the matter of money, time, patience, and knowledge. if you got all four then by means start the project and keep me posted. if i were you i would search for japanese importers around your area and grab a bpt(my current project). or you can go v6 and take out a v6 from an mx3, mx6 or ford probe. it would be way easier than trying to put a honda engine into a mazda. go to clubprotege.com. that site is full of info for your car

i wouldnt put a honda motor in a mazda. just look harder for a b6 or bp. single cam bp's are dime a dozen in junk yards and run decent.

if your just going to use your 323 as point a to point b transportation and dont care about power then i would go with mazda98277s opinion. b6(most likely what you have now) shouldnt be too hard to find in local junkyards. easiest swap you can do.

i dont really know much about mazda engines so im not sure if mines a b6 or not
but heres a picture of my engine

it's actually a b8.. get a bp from a escort g.t. its pretty much a shoe in ... go to club protege.com for more info...
