9 Month Old CX-50 Hybrid making clicking noise when turning

Hello, I'm new to the forum and decided to join so I can share the issue that recently appeared for my 2025 CX-50 Hybrid. When I'm turning and accelerating from a stop, I hear a faint but distinct clicking noise coming from the front driver side suspension area. I've heard this sound before in my previously owned cars and it is very close if not exactly like a CV axle clicking noise. I can hear the noise best when the car is in EV because the engine is off and would not drown out the sound. The clicking noise happens both when turning right or left but the issue is reproducible only when starting from a stop, then turning and accelerating.

I'm wondering if any members in the forum who owns a 2025 CX-50 hybrid is also experiencing a similar issue? It's concerning that this kind of noise would be appearing at such a low mileage and within the first year of ownership. I have an appointment at my local dealership to have this looked at I will ask them to put me in the car during the test drive so I can help pinpoint the sound. I'm also attaching a video from my dashcam where I caught the clicking sound. It's kinda faint on the video but can still be heard around the 2 second mark.

Welcome and thanks for joining and posting about this issue...Just off the top of my head, I believe @25Hybrid has a CX-50 Hybrid and can hopefully chime in here...I'm sure there are others as well...Hope you find an answer and keep us updated!

Thanks for the warm welcome Antoine! Yeah I'll keep you guys updated on how the dealer visit goes next week. Meantime, I managed to get a clearer video and sound today with the clicking sound. I got it to a consistent step now: From a stop, turn steering wheel 3/4 of the way (left or right), accelerate (preferably on EV mode so its quiet), clicking happens without miss.

Update from my trip to the dealership.

We did a road test and the tech and the shop floor manager confirmed the clicking sound. They ordered cv axle for the car. Unfortunately, the part is back ordered and there is no timeline of when they’ll get it on hand. They said my car is driveable and keep on driving for now.

The interesting part is the service manager and the techs I talked to in the dealership all know about this issue with the cx50 hybrid. In fact I’m the second or third cx50 customer in their dealership to have this problem. That helped a lot with diagnosis because the dealer was already agreeing with me even before the road test. But it begs the question: is this becoming a more widespread issue and would Mazda eventually issue a recall or a TSB?
