8th Gen Civic SI

A Type S is not a Si though. My post was in reference to a Si.

RSX type S will walk a msp with out a turbo..... Also the engine and tranny is buttery smooth and reliable I can't say the same about the FS engine.

talkin to the 2 trash talkers Greg. But, it would be a nice and close race, but in a few weeks I will be blown. Jackson Racing SC, with the Hondata K-pro at 11psi. Should take me to about 310-330whp and about 245lbs of tourque.
LMAO. Oh man I remember you saying that you would just do a couple of bolt-ons. I guess that plan failed. ;) That's gonna be a damn fast car.

I'm talking about the New Si with the RSX S engine. Current Si isn't even considered a performance car. The last real Si was the 99-00 coupe.

I swear that everyone who buys an RSX does this to it.... I have a friend in town that has this exact setup....

I'm sure by saturday we(mazdateam) will have plenty of pictures of the new civic..

This concept and some preliminary specs torn from Honda two weeks before the Chicago show suggest it can, especially since the concept is 90 percent of what the production car will be, according to a Honda source. Of course, were months away from a production version, and the proof is in the piloting, but the numbers are promising.

First, consider the 200-hp dohc i-VTEC engine, six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. The current Si offers only 160 hp, a five-speed manual and an open diff. So the concept promises to be a better car right out of the box. The European Civic Si already has 200 hp, so if we want to get miffed about that, we have every right. But no other U.S.-market CivicSi or otherwisehas ever offered as much manufacturer-supplied power or as many gears as this concept promises. And good news: That limited-slip diff means power wont be wasted spinning the inside tire in the corner. Top it off with a suitable exhaust note, and Honda is halfway there.

Below is a site with more pics from the Honda press conference at the Chicago autoshow this morning (I have the full set of studio shots but not privy to distribute them - and they'll be all over the web later today anyways).

The 8th-gen Civic is awesome and is a Mazda3 killer, with this Si in particular going to be the competition for a potential Mazdaspeed3.

Na internals are good to 400hp with good tuning on the S. You are more than welcome to drive it Jason.

wtf? where does that put the rsx? maybe those rumors of the rsx being discontinued are true

RSX is moving up market around 30k to fight the G35 and 3 series coupes.

If thats the case, Acura needs a V6 and RWD. I really don't think this will happen. Honda killed the CL and that competed with the g35 and 3 series coupes.

The RSX will soon have the ITR 240whp engine, LSD, and Final drive. The interior will be Recaro designed, and will be the upscale version of the civic. Just like the TL is the accord Type-R in Japan.
