Hey I just bought an 1988 B2600 4x4, and wanted to add a little bit more nut to it, but nothing serious, where would be a good start in "bolt-on" performance

Also, could I get away with a gutted cat or should I just get a new piece of pipe in there, im not worried about inspection thats not a problem

I would straight pipe it. The exhaust is pretty quiet on the B series trucks.

Crew cab model?

no, i wish it a cab plus model, would the best way to straight pipe it be cutting it out and replacing it with a pipe?

From what I remember yeah, a straight section of pipe should do the trick.
