8" Infotainment System to 10.25" Screen Swap Possible?

Solution
After a bit of looking, the CMU of the 6th Gen is different to the 7th Gen. Whilst it's housed in the same frame - the box itself is different, as to the connections.
6th Gen - 8" Screen: (From L-R) Power cable top left, 2x USB, blue connector, white connector, single blue connector. Another connection from the screen is located on the front of the CMU, unseen from here.
7th Gen - 10.25" Screen: Power cable located bottom centre, and another cable from the screen in blue below, I imagine this would connect with the bottom right connection on the CMU. This leaves a 5 ports which I'm sure the car won't have cables ready to go into - already noting that the larger blue and white connections from the 6th Gen are different...

Asking a dealer here in Australia is almost the same as asking a 16yo what they did at school. "I don't know."
If it's as simple as having the dash partly out and the connectors are all the same, then it won't be hard. Finding the parts is easy and cheap enough through the wreckers.

Even if they know they would say No. No dealer would do such swap.
Replacement with Gen7 infotainment CMU is not direct swap. Plus there is also coding that is needed.

I've been looking all over the net and no one has really done so on the Gen 7 Mazda Connect. Was hoping someone had on here.
My gut feel is that even swapping the screen, hub and CMU, it won't talk the ECU/PCM.
Would love to see someone do a retrofit and let us all know!

Considering that there are almost (none, except the infotainment) no interior design differences between a 2020 CX-5 ( my car for example) and a 2025 CX-5, I would adventure and say that there is a good chance to be able to swap a 8' screen with a 10'. From what I've googled so far, it seems to me that the CMU case is unchanged, same dimension. The back connectors are the same, in the same order: 2 USB connectors on the left, Audio and Canbus in the centre, GPS connector on the right side. That's a straight replacement, plug and play. The same forward connector for the infotainment display. I would also guess that the attachment frame for the display is the same. That leaves two issues to be solved: new trim panels, to accommodate the new display and, of course, the software and programming. That's probably the hardest and most expensive part. But I am sure there is a way to solve it. Where there is a will, there is a way!

Nice work @skaifeman. I am a bit disappointed that Mazda made such a drastic change on the CMU but it was fun guessing.
