6 cd changer says check CD and ejects it

I have a 2003 mazda 6 with the factory bose sound system and 6 CD changer. Sometimes when I put in a CD, start the car, or switch CDs, it will say CHECK CD and eject it. Then i press load and put the CD back in and sometimes it'll be fine or eject it again. I have tried both genuine CDs and burnt CDs and same thing happens. How do you fix this problem because its really annoying.

Hey, i have the same problem with my '03 M6 6disc changer!!!!
the only difference is that i dont have BOSE (dont think so) since my speakers dont say it!!!(dunno)
Anyway if someone can throw us some light here will be really appreciated. specially because of what cost to replace the head unit, well i mean that we have to buy the metra bezel.

thanks

Wow sounds interesting... with the burnt CD's and genuine CD's is there any differences with the condition? Scratched, dirty or anything? That would be my only guess... but if brand new CD's that are genuine right from the case in the player aren't working that would be vey odd... I'm guessing since it's an '03 you dont have a warranty on it either...

As for mtpina, you would know if you had bose :p. The bose logo should be on all your speakers, plus when you turn on your car the head unit should display "BOSE SOUND" or something like that...

My 06' ms6 has done that once, and i found out that its a problem with the cd itself. It would only read it every once in a while so i re-burned the same cd @ a slower speed ,and ive havent had the problem since

I've had several cars do this to me. Then I started burning my CDs on a different (better?) burner and it resolved itself. The CD player in my Sentra wouldn't play ANY of my burned CDs until I started burning them on my best friend's computer.

knew it, no BOSE!
anyways, my problems is with both types of CD's. some will play one time, then when the car is restarted they will eject. there are others burnt & original that just wont play!!!
and is really anoying!!

thanks 4 ur help

i have the same problem, i think i know what is the problem. first - burned cd's
are doing this problem when they are burned on faster speed or the blank cd is not very good. second - if you try with CD RW you'll never start the disk, the bose does not read them at all. with original disk's that you bye from the store the problem might be that they are not really original or burned bad. the most interesting is that on another cd they are played succsesfull. the bose system is very whimsical. my recommendation is to burn on slow speed and dont use CDRW. if some one had another idea :) please share :)))))

Mine happens on and off, even with original CDs.
I usually end up swapping the CDs around and it mends itself..so far

Same here, burned CD's typically won't play. But every once in a while for some odd reason the same CD will all of the sudden start playing.

I've tried:
4 different drives (LightScribe WriteMaster external and the factory drives in my HP laptop, Vaio laptop and Dell desktop)
5 different softwares (Roxio, Winamp, Burn4Free and Windows Media player 9 and 10)
3 different CD manufacturers (Sony, TDK, Maxell)

...none of this seemed to make any difference. The strange part is that I can play these CD's in any other CD player I own, it's only the Mazda that has issues.
