i just installed the ms cai and now i notice in 5th and 6th gear my boost will go from 15 to 20 then 15 to 20 psi,(boost gauge) back and forth when i have it pinned..it never did this b4..you can actually feel the car jolt back and forth..i didnt disconnect the battery when i installed the cai..is the computer freakin out? should i disconnect the battery and let the computer learn again.. or has it already adapted and just something else is wrong?

Disconnect the battery n00blette!

My Mustang just cried because you asked that question. Heheh, j/k!

:p

Too soon...give it some time. And that's only 20 min between posts. LOL, so impatient.

my car does the same thing in 5th and 6th ever since the cai install. I dont have a boost gauge but i can actually hear it and feel the boost build and drop reapeatly... It seems to do it mainly when i am just cruising and then pin it. If im on it hard in 4th then i dont seem to have this problem as much

ecu has to calibrate, did anyone throw a code after install and then have it go away within first day

With the talk of codes and such on a CAI I am considering only buying the MS CAI instead of the other brands. Do you guys think it makes a difference on which I buy or should I just play it safe and get the MS kit and be covered for sure?

I would hate to have the problems you guys describe and have an after market CAI and not be able to get help from the dealer if needed.

Sorry to piggy back on the thread but the issue presented has me wondering if I should even mess with anything on the car.

ive noticed this too but its not too bad I never thought that much of it, I dont have a boost guage. maybe the compter is just not calibrated for the extra air ? or who knows?

omg im so glad im not the only one (sorry)..yea its like the wastegate is freaking out so its opening and closing from so much air..at least its going from 20 psi to 17..its not like im loosing a crap load of boost..its still up there..it would really make you feel bad if you had a gauge..you can see it way more..

it didnt throw any codes it just started acting up..ill have to give it a week maybe alot of key cycles will do it...lol

yeah at first it just souned like the wastegate doing that but somethings not right. If u pay attention u can definately feel the car loosing a lot of boost and i can visually see the speedometer go from 74-76 and then slight pause of power drop, 76-78 and then pause again and so on. Its easier to notice if your going up a little grade so it kinda makes the power drop more noticeable.
