Greetings to all of my "9" drivers. We just returned from a "swing" through the Pacific Northwest from sunny So.Cal. We took our time and put lots of great memories into our digital camera and memories banks. Our "9" had about 7K on the clock when we started, fully stocked with all that survival requires when traveling the highways and byways of America. After sitting behind the wheel for oh so many miles and am happy to say that this car performed absolutely flawlessly! Average mpg came in at a decent 20.5. Even with my foot in it they mileage stayed consistant. If we had any complaints at all it would be with the NAV system's insistance on being fiddle proof while in gear!Any changes at all required us to pull over and put her in PARK! My very able navigator(wife), got pretty good at getting all of the necessary data into the "box" and away we went. So for those of you planning on an extended drive, make sure you have your trip planned out ahead of time, especially for you hotels/motels/points of interest. This machine will do very well by you for sure. The third back seat was rarely used on this excursion. We more than adequate space for 3 "sunday bags" of golf clubs, luggage for a onth on the road for three plump travelors PLUS 2 crboard boxes of "treats" to eat. All in all a wonderful driving experience in a fantastic vehicle. MAZDA has a real winner with the CX9!
