So good news, bad news and mediocre news
Good news: I picked up a pair of 2-way radios for the weekend (I only need one presuming other people bring them so I can share).
Bad news: I went to air out my tent(nice lightweight backpacking job, could be put up and staked in 5 minutes) and it's missing. Searched all over my brother's house and it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle.
Mediocre news: I located the old family tent. Its an 8-10 person job, literally the Rolls of Tents, at least it was ....in 1992. Good news is that it seems to be relatively intact, bad news is that the poles have a little surface corrosion (though still slide together) and it smells a little funky. Really bad news is that it was designed in 1992 before the idea of "e-z up" existed and worse yet I found the directions, all nice and folded up... and petrified like that.
Oh, and its duct taped in spots.
I'll bring a 6-pack of choice to share with anyone willing to try to erect this monstrosity with me.
