You are concerned that 3" won't be enough??? I guess my additional surprise from that standpoint is Terry got over 250 with my car and it has a tiny 2.25" downpipe, and the flange was welded poorly and the exhaust outlet of the turbo had a 20% restriction.

It is not a 3'' DP. It is a dual setup. 2.5'' and 1'' into a 3''. My gut tells me the one 3'' would have worked better.

I agree.... thats why Beau fought so hard to get a true 3" downpipe on the thumper kit. he felt that a 2.5" and a 1" wouldn't be the best way

Not at all. Tons of room between the turbo and the fans.

The intake was mildly ported and polished. The throttle body is 100% pure stock OEM. Other then a little carb cleaning we did not do anything to it at all.

We are doing some work on Matts 400whp beast along with more intake work.

I must say that the whole exhaust system fits perfect, it is well made. Just not a good DP in my opinion. Yes I would like to go with something a little differrent.

So any news on this build up? I would like to see somebody make more than 300 hp on this forum.....i just want to see one of our cars beat a v6 tt 300 zx. Also out of curiousity, whatever happened to azian6er? Didnt he just put an insane turbo kit on his car?

There are all sorts of cars that will be going well over 300 hp.... just they are all in process right now and will probably all be more or less ready by May.

these build ups usually cost about 8-10 grand right? I really want to dump the money i saved into this car, but i am torn between purchasing a new one. I think i am going to work on the body of this car first then make the decision, it is to early too....i wouldnt feel comfortable working my motor until i see that other people have accomplished these high numbers.....But good luck to all, kill some vettes for me when you are capable of that....

You can probably do the whole thing if you wanted for about 4.5. The builds right now yes are in the 8-10 k range for the most part but those are also build for in excess of 400 whp and fully done motors from complete scratch.

You can see what I am and am not doing in my rebuild thread... as I'm trying to keep every detail of it public so people can learn from what I yield and what does or doesn't happen.. this thread is similarily good for that as well! NSN doesn't do blocks for people... so talk to Nick if you actually need a motor. He'd be the man there.
