359-400 whp drag P5

yeah bob did do the kit. But I had to many problems with him and they way he did the kit. So I had to reposistion alot of things cuz he did bad work, so if you are getting a kit from him I would think twice. SERIOUSLY! For example the exhaust manifold was cracked when i got it, the wastegate was hitting my power steering motor, etc. etc. So I suggest you think twice. I am in the process of getting my money back right now.

all right dont get your self stired up.
i dont do buisness with bob because his quality is not to my liking.
any way i dont buy from bob either. a while back i was questioning him about his manifolds because i did not think the way he was making them fit our cars right.
i suggested he invert it so the turbo be up not down.
thats it. he sent me a sample of some of his work but i was not impressed .
on another note i build my own kits but thanks for the heads up.
i told him about the position of his downpipe and waste gate were a problem a year ago
i guess he never took that into consideration.
good lick getting your money back .
anyway he told me about your set up a while ago with the chest from summit. its a nice idea . very compact and relocation of the battery was i assume simple.
any way what are you doing for internals and trans??

well i talked to tripoint engineering about that and the told me just to send them my tranny and they will take care of it. on the other had my friend works at mazda and at racing beat, and the told me all we have to do is to shot peen the shift forks and something else i forgot. ill try to call them back at i will post it. But my friend had told me that it is the third gear which is the weak gear, prone to shatter in high horsepower.

Very good info indeed! BTW, JE is who I went with too. What compression did you opt for? I did the stock 9.1:1, I tried to call today and change it to 8.5:1, but they tell me mine are already done. This is good and bad news.:D :( (thumb)

well my builder went with the 8.5:1 ratio. how much psi are you going to run. I am going to run about 20psi. Oh here is a pic of my ported throttle body. for engine management I am still debating on either Haltech or FAST not sure yet i have to read up more on both of them, but what i am really looking for is a rev limited system or what ever its called.

good luck guys please keep posting your progress. Ill try to too, i just dont have alot of time to call and bug my builder.

some serious shiznitz goin down here. not like the corolla scene where only 1 out of like 20 people actually do serious stuff. over there it's all about engine and ecu swaps. over here it's more upscale. i'm glad that this block can hold boost and heavy mods. i hope to be runnin like 14-16psi on my msp with some forged internals. lookin at 275-290whp. my goal
