Hey guys,

I am looking at buying the mazda 3 in a little while and while i was at the dealer they told me a few things about the car that got me thinking..

They told me that the 2.3 motor is from the mazda 6..
Well being a Acura owner and knowing of many motor swaps between other honda's/acura's. Do you think the 3.0L motor will swap directly in the Mazda 3?? I would asume that the 2.3 and the 3.0 would have the same motor mounts since it would be a pain in the ass for mazda to make diff mounts depending on the motor of the car.

All i can say if its possible.. Holy s***!! 220hp and 192ft/lbs in a car that weighs in at 2700lbs..

So what are your thoughts can this be done fairly simple?

and yes i know any thing is possible if you have enough mon-ay

not worth it....just buy a turbokit for half what that motor alone would cost and enjoy your 250hp and 250lb/ft.

FWIW, I tried to mount my 3.0L Yamaha V6 into my P5....it will not fit without cutting the frame or severly cutting up the tranny....I speak from experience. the 3.0L block is over 4 inches longer than the 2.3L block....imagine all of your accessories pushed towards the fenders....also it throws your weight distribution way off.

great idea...and since you were the first to speak, you should be the first to try it!

let us know if you ruin your car!!!
