Hey guys
I am looking at a set of 245/40r18 BFG R1s that I plan to use for Autox and I know that the book says they are too wide for the stock rim but I was wondering if anyone has actually went ahead and fitted up a set of these on the stock rims. Let me know if it turned into a tire installers nightmare and what if any problems you ecnountered.

Thanks

It will work. I had 205's on a 6" wide wheel before. It isn't ideal by any means but it works.

I should proof read my threads when I start them, I am actually looking at fitting a set of 245/40r18s on my stock rims. 225s fit no problem.

You're going to watch at least an 8" rim for that size. You'd probably be better off on an 8.5" or 9" wheel too. I'm guessing that you're looking at them used?

If not, save yourself some cash and buy a smaller size.

I have the option to buy a new set for a pretty good price. My main concern is will they actually fit on the rims. I realize it will not be the ideal set-up but it may just improve my set-up for Autox.

They might work, but I wouldn't put my money on it.
