I know that these are really meant for 7.5 rims and we have 7, but I was wondering how many people were running them on stock rims and if you have had any problems. Also I didnt know if with this rim size there may be a problem with cobb springs. Thanks.

It depends on the tire. Some of this size are rated for as small as seven inches and are fine. Some call for minimum 7.5. I think it depends mostly on the sidewall design. Personally, if you want the tire to perform to expectations and get decent life out of it, I would trust the manufacturer's recommendations. Remember, they want to sell tires. If it was a good fit for a seven inch wheel, they would say so.

To add to waht MId LIfe Crisis has said. I find that going at least a 1/2'' wider than the minumum rim width is benificial. The wider wheel supports the sidewall better providing a crisper cantact patch/steering feel.

Sidewall deflection is reduced as you approach optimum rim width. Imagine putting on sneakers that are wide and you have narrow feet. You can lace them up tight and wear them, but are they going to be as good as if they were the right size?
Minimum rim width is just that, minimum. Tire manufacturers state a width range and an optimum width. My tires need 7.5 to 9 for rim width. 8.0 is as wide as I felt comfortable with, so I went with those.

I got 225/40/18 Eagle F1 A/S

they are amazing. They fit just fine...I have no rubbing what so ever (because I went from 45 to 40)...and the tire comes out about 5mm past the rim...nothing major...I actually like the look.

The difference in traction was night and day. My stockers were at the tread replacment bump yet (brain fart...cant think of the name)...but they were getting close to having to get replaced...and I could break traction from a roll in second gear. Now, I just get a chirp shifting hard into 2nd, and the tires grip hard after the chirp.

When you change your tires, DEFINATLY move to 225/40/18...its a great improvment
