2021 CX-5 lugnut size?

Signature series if it makes a difference.
Anyway, I've got a gift card from Harbor Freight and need something to spend it on.
One of the things I want is a deep socket to fit my car, but I'm not sure of the size.

I think it's a 21mm, but you can take one of the lug nuts off the spare underneath the false floor and bring it into the store with you to be sure.

Separate lug nuts on a spare? I've never seen that. Anyway, my spare has a bolt that holds down the spare. The lug wrench included with the car is designed for both that bolt and the lug nuts and it has the same amount of play on both as a 21 mm socket. Anyway, the spare hold-down bolt will do for taking into the store. Worst case just take one off a wheel when parked at the store without forgetting to put it back one when you leave. ;)

My 2018 came with 21 mm lugs. The 7/8 lug wrench also works but slightly bigger. If you want exact get the 21 mm. Am assuming they(Mazda) didn't change the size for various generations.

If you haven’t already, I suggest applying some of that Gift Card to an Extendable Breaker bar. It and your 21mm deep socket will store nicely by the spare tire. When extended, it gives you a lot more leverage trying to break loose the tight lug nuts. I wrap them in an old towel to eliminate any potential rattling.

Mazda went from 21mm to 17mm and back to 21mm i think over the last 5 years. You really need to check the nut to confirm.

I'm a dummy, you're totally right lol. I would do what you suggested and pull a nut off in the parking lot, bring it into the store to get the right socket size, then put it back on the car before leaving to go home.

A 21 mm socket on the 21 mm version has a fair amount of play. However 13/16 (20.6 mm) is kind of tight and you might end up seizing seizing the nut in the socket making it kind of hard to get out. Maybe a little lubricant on that 13/16 socket would prevent that. I don't have a 27/32 but that's 21.4 mm and would add more play.

I'd not horse around and just stick with 21 mm.

No problemo. We all have our moments. In fact, I made reference to the spare hold-down bolt when I meant nut.
