2017 Mazda CX-5 Firmware update issue

I have been trying to update my Mazda’s infotainment system and I have the files to update it but I keep running into a problem.

I follow the exact instructions to doing it. I press the three buttons, I input 3, enter, clear, input 2, enter, clear, input 99, enter, clear, exit and on my screen it asks to search my USB stick for the updates and it doesn’t find any. I formatted the USB stick, I have the update files on it, and I used Checksum Utility to check the hash. Everything. I’ve watched every YouTube video and read every forum and I don’t understand what in the world I’m doing wrong.

Is there a new method that I’m not aware of? Please give any advice you may have.

You may have too big a thumb drive. And car may want FAT32 format.

Exactly this. FAT32 must be used.
