2015 CX9 Sport - Rear License Plate Questions

Hello -

I just got a 2015 CX9 Sport and have a few questions:

1. I attached an image of what the bulb area on top of the rear license plate area and to me it looks like there should be a covering over the lights (not the empty black space), as dirt and snow could get all around the light. Am I missing a piece or is that the way it is supposed to be?

2. The Sport trim does not have a rear view camera for backing up. Is there a camera that would work and display in the radio/navigation console? How difficult is it to connect?

I mean to the left and right of the light, there is a gap that dirt & snow could get in. Is the gap supposed to be there?
