Here's my brand new baby. Fresh from the dealer with Water and swirl marks. No cars are perfect, but when you mix the Florida sun with the rain, your bound for water marks on unprotected cars.

So after inspection to see what I'm dealing with, I started with the wash. Rims first of course. Griots Garage wheel cleaner and a paint brush. Plenty of foam and agitation and what you are left with is a beautiful clean rim. Then some optimum water based dressing. to finish it up

Exterior is next. 2 bucket method with grit guards and a microfiber wash Mit. My two favorite products- Chemical guys Mr. Pink for a typical wash, or Optimum no rinse for the rinse less wash.. Both are proven products that work great.

Clay time. Ricardo's Detailing clay. Very soft clay. No need to waste extra no-rinse when the car is already wet. She's pulled into the garage, clayed and air dried with my shop vac, then wiped down with a thick woobie microfiber. You scratch anything with these towels and you've got serious issues!(smash). Already starting to look good after the clay.

Now the fun starts. Time to pull out the polisher. 2nd Gen Griots Garage DA Polisher with a 6 inch backing plate and a Yellow Meguiars soft buff pad. M205 finishing polish. Sorry took pic of the pad after I started. That's why they are dirty in the pics. A few dots of product on the pad is worked into the paint in a slow overlapping motion until it flashes. Work sections no bigger than 24x24.

(wow) Look at the Clarity. There is a huge misconception that shine comes is from wax, it doesn't. Wax will add hue and depth. Shine comes from a level clear and base coat. Nothing in the finish to break up the reflection of light. Now she is really starting to pop and I'm having a great time!

Peek-a-boo!

Finally the last step......two coats of Meguiars mirror glaze Carnauba wax applied by DA with a Griots Garage red finishing pad. Removed with another woobie towel folder in fours. We're about 7 hours in now and still having fun! 2 Thin coats. Each cured on the car for about 30 minutes prior to removal. comes off with two easy swipes.

The finished product....Many hours and microfibers later. Had a great afternoon detailing the new baby. Went for an afternoon cruise with the paint shining like its wet. The looks of the car combined with the shined turned a lot of heads. We got rain coming in the next few days so she will be parked in the garage and the 3i sport will get some use. She's due for a for detail as well!

Hope you enjoyed my afternoon detailing. Sorry for any grammatical errors. I'm about 2 hours and 4 glasses of wine in!
