2014 CX-5 110k miles, rotted oil pan?

I had to put a trans mount in my CX-5 last weekend. When I pulled off the plastic cover under the engine (which is literally the first time I've had to), I saw an oil pan that I'll be replacing at my next oil change:

FYI the drips in the photo are just condensation - we had one random warm day after a week at or below freezing temps. I'm surprised that this has already rusted to that extent, especially since the engine is completely covered underneath. Any other car I've had with a steel pan, it lasted the life of the car, and none of those were protected. I don't see any posts about people having this issue, so maybe had a factory defect. Not a big deal to fix, but kinda strange.

If that's the first time you've removed the plastic cover, I take it the transmission has not been serviced during your ownership however long that is. Also, I may be wrong, but this is the first case I've seen where the oil pan is so severely rusted and the transmission mount needed replaced at 110K miles. Do the roads get heavily salted where the car is operated? Not being judgemental but these 2 items caught my attention.

The big bubble is nearest to the passenger wheel, but I don't know if I'd say it's close to the wheel. It's all pretty well protected by the cover.

Yes, heavily salted roads, both where I live and where the original owner lived. But that's always been the case. A new pan is neither expensive nor difficult to replace, just an odd failure I wasn't expecting.

As for the trans mount, it had developed a strange shuddering lately when taking off from a stop (it's a manual). The torque mount looked and felt OK so I looked at the trans mount next. It was not broken all the way through, but it had developed some cracks and was soft enough where I could move it around by hand. Everything feels fine now with the new mount in.
