2013 CX5 TPMS sensor icon

Try this when all tire pressures are good but tire pressure sensor light continuously reactivates despite proper resetting procedures. In my case, there was fine gravel dust, sand and dirt in the hidden gear compartment of the steering knuckle where the sensor bolts into. It coincided with an event of being stuck in an icy/watery pothole churning up fine gravel, sand and dirt. Flushing it with water from a garden hose solved the problem.

Tools required: Jack, 21mm socket and ratchet/turning bar, garden hose.

If you can remove the front wheels to expose the suspension, stick the garden hose between the brake rotor and the groove of the steering knuckle, then turn on the water so it pours over the area between the back of the hub and the knuckle. Let the water run over that space while rotating the hub a few times back and forth. Do this for a couple of minutes and repeat procedure for the opposite side. The water will make its way into the compartment flushing away any dirt that obstructs the proper functioning of the sensor and gear.

This is worth a try and could help to avoid having to deal with a stealership mentality where we are all walking dollar signs the minute we step up to the counter. Not all dealerships are stealerships. Caveat emptor.
