2013 CX-5 Won't Start...What could be wrong?

2013 CX5 just died.. 😢All of a sudden my CX5 will not start. things I have tried/noticed; battery, when connected only reads about half charge, however when i disconnect and put it on a charger, it shows full charge. when connected, momentarily I get all the dashboard lights, then nothing. All I did prior to this weird event was take out the cabin air and engine air filters and clean them. I made sure that the engine air filter was properly seated too, prior experience, I have checked all the fuses and they seem to be OK. What in the dog hair could be wrong, I'm at wits end on this one. There has to be a simple answer to this dilemma...

Sounds like a short has developed. Check and see if you cut a wire in the area you were working by mistake. If you have a meter see if there's a short between the positive battery cable and ground.

Retrace your steps.... More history and information about the CX5 might help. You're sure the battery is ok, and it's not dying from heat? A bad battery can show a charge but it's not 'real'. But you could have introduced a short someplace when you replaced the filters.

I still think your battery is bad.
"put it on a charger, it shows full charge".... you probably saw the voltage from the charger.

Disconnect the battery and use the multimeter ($10 from Walmart) to measure the voltage.
It should read 12.6v (no less than 12.3v).
(2.1v * 6 = 12.6 v)
There are 6 cells in a lead-acid battery.
