At $9000 with 32,000 miles, is this a good deal for a 2012 Mazda 2 Sport? No fog lights, no spoiler, no cruise control. It is as basic as you can get these days.
I am going to test drive it tonight. They don't want to budge with the price. www.cargurus.com says it is a good deal but I want to know if anyone here has gotten a better deal on a used Mazda 2 with similar mileage.

I have been looking for a manual trans Mazda 2 for a while. It seems all of them on the market are the really slow automatics.

The car looks clean in pictures. No obvious scratches anywhere. Clean title.

I am going to try to get them to lower the price by $500 or waive the dealer fees.

I have a pile of touring stuff from the B-Spec car if you want to upgrade anything if you pick it up.

I found out more details. It was a trade in. That means they probably got it for $4000 from the old owner. I may be able to lower the price below $8500.

I may take you up on that if I go ahead with the purchase. Fog Lights and Rear Spoiler???

BTW, I plan to autox this car. At first in the stock class until I get used to the car, then later street modified when I upgrade some things. Then maybe in 2019 I will sell it and get the ND MX-5 Club or Mazdaspeed if available.

If you are looking to autox the car, think twice before installing those touring parts. The serious drivers will protest your car and you will be disqualified unless the trim conversion is complete. (They will only do this once you start winning, or at least, start beating some of them.) But you probably can't do a complete trim conversion unless you spend a lot more and trace down every single missing item out there.

I have the whole foglight setup including a new switch to use with it. Shoot me a PM if you get the 2.

Yes and no...

The fogs fit into Comfort and convenience and the spoiler is dress up since its aero function is nill. The cruise control is C&C also, but you can't swap the steering wheel unless you did the ENTIRE touring kit together. (Swapping airbag steering wheels is not allowed unless part of a factory option package; which includes the gauge cluster)

And OP...$9000 is still a good deal, $8500 is better...but for a clean low mileage 5sp Sport..$9,000 is not bad...
If that falls through, for a couple hundred more $9800ish, I might be able to convince my buddy to part with his STF car. (Includes the wheel/tire/suspension/seats/ECU/Intake/exhaust upgrades)

I ended up buying the car. I only managed to knock off $133 of the price for a very small dent. The car was super clean otherwise.
The arm rest is creaky and loose. It turns out to be a common issue. I still have bumper to bumper warranty until March 1st, 2015 so I have 2 weeks to get it fixed or replaced under warranty.
The brake rotor dust shield was touching the rotors, causing a metal scraping sound. I just bent it out of the way to fix the issue.

Driven 120 miles so far. It is more fun and feels quicker and quieter than the Honda Fit Sport my wife drives. But the Honda has a smoother ride and better interior quality and way more features.

You are lucky, my 2 doesn't have an armrest. : (

With the shift knob a little high, the arm rest really should be standard. This arm rest is also like a center console storage compartment. But the arm rest compartment is very small. Barely fits my phone.
