You're fed up due to the tinting, correct? If so, use VHT's Nightshade to do it yourself. Go to an autozone and buy a couple tail light cover sheets(they are usualy for cracked tails but you can use this for now). Once you get the tails out, you can use the tail cover sheets to temp. use while driving with no tails, just make sure you seal the cover holes 100%. The spray only takes about 24 hours to cure and definitely looks pretty good if done correctly, and always be sure to clearcoat at least 2-3 coats when you're done.
If you're just sick of the look of the tails, I highly doubt the pre-gen models will be even close of a fit for our cars. There are many more curves and "level" changes on ours to really even compare, but I do think it would look nice if it did. I like the pre-gen tails.. :/
The tails from the older models are shaped quite different so a swap would not be easy.

Yea man totally different tails, they will not come close to fitting. Just spray then with VHT NightShades.
I have already had my tails off to smoke them and I took a good look at them to confirm what I already knew, which was the tail light lenses are plastic welded to the housing, meaning they cant be separated by baking/heating. Dont waste your time trying, you will only melt them into a puddle of useless goo. Just spray em and call it a day.
I would try a wet and heat combo application of tint/vinyl. I would try that 10 times before I would worry about nightshades. Unless you have a LOT of time to prep/sand/spray/sand a lot more/clear coat...etc..Nightshades usually gets pretty poor results....
And tint/vinyl can be removed without heavy sanding and refinishing....
I'm not against it, but the material is expensive to do it multiple times as well my vinyl skills are pretty crappy.
So you are fed up with the after market support for model that has been out a year? But yet the options that are available to you, you shoot down. Just seems a little juvenile.
I want a new ___________, not that _______.
Read some threads and think before you post.
That's some sound advice, next time I notice your name associated with a thread I will think and know it is a waste of time to read.
wow! that looks sick how much did you end up paying to get them sprayed? and yeah the visibility isn't to great but it still looks good. take a picture of your reverse lights.
^ it will be high considering you will have to get a new set of taillight as well as ticket amount.
