Just spreading the word that K&N Air filter (part# 33-2293) fits perfectly on our car

Followed shortly by AEM and Injen. I'm in the same boat.

I guess I didn't know Injen was working on one yet. I knew AEM and PRM are. But as long as the price of the Corksport works out, I am sure I will buy that. I am sure AEM will be a CAI which i don't want anyways.

any differences u notice?

defenitely does not feel as 'choked up' -just look at the difference in thickness of the air filter. The drive is much better.

the power at 2500rpm is noticable

I have yet to confirm the improvement in gas mileage but people have reported good increase.

I've read report from other threads that Intakes has negative effects on the lower rpm's and only show the improvement at higher rpm (4k+)

Ive opted to get the K&N filter because it shows the difference in the lower rpms (2k-4k) -which is where i spend most of the time.

Just got the email from K&N stating they have released their air filter for the 2010. LOL, seeing how forums confirmed, a long time ago, that the previous gen filter worked. No worries though edangs, it is the same part number as you bought.

Has anyone removed the secondary air filter yet?
Did that to my 07 Corrola and it made a difference in gas miliage and throttle response.

The one in the upper part of the box is a charcoal filter, it is shown in the picture above. I removed it and put a K&N in and the car is a lot smoother through the rpm range car has a little more bit to it now.

k&n

how do you remove the second filter,it seems it needs to be drilled out.

Just put two of your fingers through the upper charcol filter and pull it will pop out dosen't take to much strength to do it

dropped mine in over the weekend. subtle changes in acceleration, smoothness.
had them in a bunch of cars over the years: Audi quatro, Jetta GLI turbos, Mazda 6 wagon, passat turbos. All with similar results. I wanted to go with an SRI, but its a lease and decided minor mods are best...
