Hi everybody!

I just fell in love with the cx9 gt.

Im actually gonna buy one tonight, i just want to make sure the price is right.

2010 GT black with sand leather, with nav and dvd

it's 5k down (through trade in) and 450 a month lease for 42 months. zip code is 11793

Does it sound right?

Thank you in advance, i'll be coming in regularly as soon as i finalize tonight!

Ale

Anybody on the lease offer? I'm gonna end up doing it anyway tonight because I really like it, but i wanted to know if anybody thinks i have room for improvement

thank you

Are you leasing for business reasons?

One would think with $5K down, a well negotiated sales price and a decent interest rate you could get your payment pretty close.

First of all thank you for your reply.

The idea is to keep the payment at the lowest level possible, and yes, i Know that it doesn't make too much financial sense, but in this moment it is better.

But actually, the dealer just called me back and said since my credit falls below 600 he has to raise the payment by 100 - 200 a month....I don't think i am gonna end up being a cx 9 owner....

thank you....

ugh the good old bait and switch game.

Yes, it feels like it, but apparently below 600 is a really bad credit. I am a foreigner so i'm not 100% familiar with these numbers.

We'll see tonight, i just don't like that because of this, I lose my negotiating capabilities, because i will never know what part comes from my bad credit and what part comes from the dealer not be willing to negotiate...

Thanks everybody for your help. One question, the original offer (5k down and $450 a month for 42 months) sounds good, bad or average for a 2010 AWD GT?

The price doesn't sound good. I would shop around with another dealer. If you can wait 6 months then you will get a much better price. Also, secure financing from a bank or credit union before you go into the dealer so that they can't screw you like this.

Great call! When I bought mine I had the whole thing in writing from my credit union. They want the loan business in addition to the car sale. In my case I sat in the business manager's office (after I had agreed on a sale price) and watched him shop for a better rate than my credit union. It took him all of 3 minutes to get another bank (Chase) to beat my credit union.

I would definitely go the Credit Union route. They usually offer better rates, at least from my experience. A credit score of 600 is pretty low, but if you haven't lived here long you probably haven't had time to bring it up.

Thank you all. I just got a reply from the dealer that they're looking to make an exception. But im understanding that it's not good enough? Really?

1. Never put money down on a lease. My CX-9 is leased, and I drove it off the lot with zero $ out of pocket, and Mazda made the first payment.
2. Never lease for longer than the factory warranty.

i'm a foreign national too.. i think as long as you have DP, 3mos good paying salary check and at least apt rent history; you're good.. I got my corolla at 6.5% at my 5th mo here in US. got 8.5% for CX9 at 2nd yr (considering I already have mortgage, another car, a son and growing expenses); then got Mazda3 on my 3rd yr at 6% with same unchanged credit-debt status.

Don't hurry up,, people in the forum are right - shop around, wait 'til end of year for more rebate. I always consult the true market value from edmunds.com

FYI, I bought my 9 $8K + autodimming mirror at end of 2008 and I was to buy rx8 instead of mazda3 'coz of, i think around 7K$ total off frm MSRP by end of 2009 but obviously didn't work out.
