2010 Camaro SS tempting

The Mustang is okay but I see way to many of them.

lol I love when ppl try to use this arguement against stangs. There's obviously a reason for there to be so many of them around. And that right there is a great thing for me and my holdings in F shares :).

The Mustang may have a tiny advantage in the turns with the track package.....but the ss has the most grunt (wrc) and IMHO looks better on the outside

I had the feeling you would comment. Price and availability are the two main reasons I see more of them. I really have nothing against the Mustang as a car but just against some of the local drivers. Who hot rod around looking for a race.

Is the Track Pack for the strip or corner craving?

The cost is basically on par with a Camaro or Challenger. All 3 cars are available for around $32K with similar options.

There's also a reason the Mustang never got canned, but the Camaro took a vacation, and the Challenger died 30 years ago. You can argue availability and price all you want, but it's the quintessential pony car, and has the fan base to back it up.

The Track Pack for 2010 (not avail. on 2011s, since most of it is integrated in the GT & Brembo pkgs) was a revised suspension, 19" wheels & tires, and different ESC tuning, with the 3.73 rear end, manual, and spoiler delete.

I agree with Steve's comments. The track pack also has upgraded brakes. The spoiler delete was not part of it in Canada, and was a seperate option. Actually here in Canada they have 2 track packs, the first being nothing more then the 3.73 lsd, and a strut bar as far as I remember.

Ah, I forgot about the different brake pads it came with. We had the 3.73 rear end package and the Track Pack (3.73 plus the other goodies).

For 2011, most of the TP has become stock, but you can get the Brembo pkg, which adds the GT500 rotors and Brembo calipers, 19x9" wheels, and sticky tires. The 3.73 is a $395 option.

So...is the track pack for road courses are straight line? I am being stupid.

I did read a review of all 3 pony cars from Motor Trend and even if the Mustang with the track package did out handle the SS by a hair.....they still rated the SS as the best pony car.......so literally I think it is personal preference between looks of the SS and the Mustang Track Package in the eye of the beholder....I guess I am a fan of the looks on the Camaro myself...mmmmm that cyber gray is really attractive.

We need to wait and see what they do this year. My concern with the 2011 Mustang is the EPAS, and what kind of feedback it provides.

Just found out in June I'll be going to GM's Milford Proving Grounds and getting behind the wheel of some of their stuff. Should be a good time.

Things will change yet again if the Camaro Z28 SS ever makes it to market.

On a side note I had a d-bag in a facelifted GT wanting to race me this morning in a borrowed 335i I was driving. I was the bigger man and just let him go. Which was a really hard thing for me to do.

Right now that's a unicorn. Besides, that would nip at the heels of the Z06 for a lot less money, and GM wouldn't like that (if they put the LSA motor in it) It's more of a GT500 competitor than a GT competitor.

omg......yeah I think after all the looking.....the 335i wins out.....has the looks...comfort...handling..and power. I was researching their forums and noticed how easy it was to squeeze 50hp at the wheels just by doing a piggyback for $700. Yes I read the fuel pump issues that some of the early ones had, but on the other note it doesn't have blown turbos and I wouldn't have to worry about my exhaust smoking. I guess every vehicle has it's issues and even though I love my mazda to death I still envy every 335i coupe I see (the sedans just dont look right IMHO...the tail lights are just all wrong)....I am sure I will keep my mazda for at least another year or two so I'll see what develops...I am sure there will be some other vehicle I have fallen in love with at that time

I didnt realize this until I walked up close to one. But the new camaro is huge!!
