Released as little more than a teaser photo laid bare, the details are somewhat sketchy on this upcoming 2009 model Pontiac Vibe. The new crossover makes its public debut at next month's Los Angeles Auto Show, hitting dealerships shortly afterwards in early 2008.
This 'all-new Vibe' signals the return of 'popular all-wheel-drive and performance-oriented GT models', the present generation models of which having been removed from sale earlier this year amid the introduction of new federal emissions standards.
Unveiled at LA, the new Vibe will be pipped to the post by its cousin, brought to the market by joint parent firm Toyota. The 2009 model year Matrix crossover will be premiered several weeks prior at the SEMA Show later this month.

Stay with us for all the information and further shots of the new car.

They are similar to the Dodge Caliber which is labeled a crossover.

I like it somewhat, I will admit that it looks quite a bit better than the current Vibe. But you can still see a cheap plastic vibe in that IMO.

Anything would be better than the current Vibe. My ex-girlfriend has one that I drove several times. It has NO power at all. Running the AC up the hill caused it to downshift and ride at redline the whole way up! (Kind of like the low-end Dodge Caliber's you get at rental car places.)

So would the P5 if that was the case.

The vibe is a few inches taller (mostly in the ground clearance) than the Protege5.

the matrix is also taller than the p5, but not by a lot

I like the way this looks! way better than the 3 wagon, sadly

Is there actually a difference in height between the Matrix and Vibe? I wouldn't think so, but I guess I've been wrong before...I think.
