2009 Mazda5 GT iPod Options

Hi All,

Just picked up a used 09 Mazda5 Grand Touring w/dealer installed Sirius. I'm looking for a good iPod solution as the current aux input is not ideal (for obvious reasons)

I've read a few threads and looked at the descriptions for the Mazda accessories, but I'm getting conflicting reports on whether this can be done if Sirius is already installed.

I'd like to keep Sirius there as an option, but if I have to disconnect it, I'm fine with that.

Here's what I'm looking for:
- Keep factory stereo
- Keep Bluetooth functional
- Charge/play via USB
- Song selection from iPod is very important. Having the ability to do both would be nice, but if given the choice I'd prefer song selection from iPod.

- Keeping 1/8" auxiliary input functional is nice to have, but not absolutely required.
- Control from steering wheel is nice to have, but not important

Is this possible? Can you tell me which Mazda part numbers I'd need? Anyone have installation instructions?

A number of reasons, but primarily: You then have to have an additional charger plugged in to power the iPod. The iPod also continues to play when the car is stopped.

Why do you want to keep it original? You can easily find what you are looking for in an aftermarket.

I'd like to keep to factory parts. If I went aftermarket, I'd go in-dash navi and I don't think I want to put that much $ into it.

You need to find a dealer's service manager who knows about the adapter that can be used to take input from the iPod connector and the Sirius input and into the head unit. It's a Y-type dongle. I would elaborate if I knew more about it.
