2-Ethylhexanoic acid = 2-EHA

SCA Tech Advice confirms their RED & GREEN SCA House Brand Coolant contains a small amount of 2-EHA.....does not disclose that on the bottle

############
FL22 coolant is a long-life coolant, 10yrs / 250,000kms

Absolute maximum to first change "in theory" NOTED it is outside the warranty period & beyond the typical first ownership so not a MAZDA Dealership problem.....
How many 10yr old Mazda's are being driven by 1st owner & still being serviced by Mazda Dealerships or an independent workshop using MAZDA Specific Fluids ie Not Multi-Vehicle Fluids?
Suggest less than 5% of the new car sales, most leave "MAZDA Dealership Service Schemes" at 5Years or 7Years at the end of the "Capped Price Service" schedule & less than 160,000kms.

The options are full flush, remove thermostat & blow out the block with compressed air & then up to 5.4lt required.... (Else if the cooling system is in reasonable condition, you may decide not to take the thermostat out, & undertake multiple Demin Water Flushes, do the residual % calc & then measure your outcome to confirm the % outcomes achieved):
[a] Toyota Super Long Life PINK Coolant 50/50 Premix using 2 of 5lt = AUD$84
or
['b] FORD Motorcraft VC-13-G FIRNo 200142 Concentrate WSS_97B57_A1 01, YELLOW Coolant using 1 of 3.78lt = AUD$70
or
[c] MAZDA FL22 55/45 Premix using 2 of 5lt = AUD$360

Concentrate makes the flush & achieving a 50/50 outcome easier than 50/50 premix.

Interestingly, Independent Workshops that use Penrite Fluids have the same recommendation as it provides "the Penrite Warranty".

Was concerned that it contains Borate.
SFAIAA It also contains 2-EHA

So what are others doing when they are required to completely flush the MAZDA cooling system?

Are you paying AUD$360 for Mazda FL22 Premix to flush all of the previous coolant out?….surely not?

Noted.....I've changed the coolant to Toyota Super Long Life PINK Coolant 50/50 Premix with a Demin Flush. Will Post a Separate Thread.

For my 1.5lt Auto having done the % calcs & measured the outcome %'s I think its 5lt total volume with 400ml in the reservoir & 4.6lt in Block & Heater Core.
