2008 Turbo Question

I'm thinking about buying a new MS3 however the only thing holding me back on it would be the possible turbo issues that it can have. Does the 2008 MS3 have the same ko4 as the previous years or does it have the gt30? If it does still have the ko4 have they tweaked it at all to make them more relaible?

I thought that the turbo was the same throughout. But lets be honest there arent really any issues. Only a few reported failures with over 10000 MS3's sent to NA. If you think the turbo is a weak spot either get an extended warrenty or save up and replace it after teh regular warrenty.

For the money its a steal: great looks, fast, fun and lots of cargo room. Cant go wrong.

look at an evo or subaru forum, you are gonna have guys stating that their motor mounts broke, turbo started smoking etc etc. There is no such thing as 100% reliable cars but 95% for the first 50k sure.....thats 250 bad turbos, fallen motors etc etc in an 5000 unit production for 07....forums are great but because you only hear about the horror stories it makes you thing that oh s*** this car sucks. Its within acceptable "casualties" if not they would have recalled everything you see posted.

if you are looking for 98% get a corolla (not insult to toyota because they build the most reliable s*** out there)

just buy it and no theres no gt30 on the new ones its same ko4
